A 19-year-old youth from Bada Poduna village in Odisha's Keonjhar district has allegedly gone missing after being assaulted by a local Sarpanch over a social media post. The missing youth has been identified as Abhijit Sahu. His family has accused Ramachandrapur Sarpanch Pradeep Sahu of attacking him after he allegedly posted allegations of corruption on social media.
According to Abhijit's father, Markanda Sahu, his son had uploaded a post alleging that soil was being illegally excavated and sold after digging a pond on grazing land. The family alleged that the social media post angered the Sarpanch, who subsequently assaulted Abhijit.
The family claims that Abhijit has been missing since Thursday and no trace of him has been found so far, causing growing concern among relatives. Alleging inaction by the local police despite lodging a complaint, the family has now approached the Chief Minister, seeking immediate intervention to trace Abhijit and initiate strict action against those responsible.
