Tension gripped Udala after a youth was allegedly crushed to death by a dumper, triggering protests that have continued for over two hours. The agitation disrupted traffic on the Udala–Balasore State Highway as angry locals burned tyres and staged a road blockade. Protesters have demanded compensation for the deceased's family and insisted that the road construction contractor reach the accident site. Meanwhile, Udala Police and the Tehsildar have reached the spot and are holding discussions with the protesters in an effort to restore normalcy.
