Petrol, Diesel Prices Unlikely to Fall Despite Crude Oil Price Drop: Dealers' Association

Petrol and diesel prices are unlikely to be reduced despite a decline in global crude oil prices, according to the Utkal Petroleum Dealers Association. General Secretary Sanjay Lath stated that oil marketing companies have incurred financial losses of around ₹2.18 lakh crore and are currently focused on recovering those losses before any reduction in retail fuel prices is considered. The source indicates that the recovery of these losses remains a key reason behind the absence of an immediate cut in petrol and diesel prices despite lower crude oil rates.
