Preparations are underway at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri for the observance of Dev Snana Purnima on Sunday. The Holy Trinity will be ceremonially bathed on the Snana Mandap and later give darshan to devotees in the divine Gajanana Besha (Hati Besha). Ritual preparations for the grand festival began on Saturday with the commencement of the Daitapati servitors' entry rituals inside the temple.
As part of the traditional rituals, the sacred Senapata Lagi ceremony will be performed on the deities today. Owing to this important ritual, public darshan at the Shree Jagannath Temple has remained suspended from Saturday night until 1 PM on Sunday.
The annual Dev Snana Purnima marks a significant occasion in the Jagannath tradition, drawing thousands of devotees to Puri to witness the sacred rituals and divine appearance of the deities.
