Heavy rainfall lasting nearly two hours left Sambalpur city severely affected, with several low-lying areas submerged overnight. Water flowed across major roads, entered residential houses and disrupted normal life. The situation posed a major challenge for the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) as it worked to drain the accumulated rainwater.
