An age-old tradition of the Shree Jagannath Temple was observed during the sacred Niladri Bije rituals as the Mudirasta Sevak performed the Bandapana ceremony on the chariot in the absence of the Gajapati Maharaja. According to the temple's centuries-old customs, the Gajapati Maharaja is regarded as the foremost servitor of Lord Jagannath. Whenever he is unable to remain present, the Mudirasta Sevak carries out the designated ritual duties on his behalf, ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of the temple's sacred traditions.
