’କଂଗ୍ରେସ ସରକାର ବିରୋଧରେ ଜନମତ ଯାଇଥିଲା। ସେତେବେଳେ ପ୍ରଧାନମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ପଦରେ ରହିବାକୁ ଇନ୍ଦିରା ଗାନ୍ଧୀ ଏମରଜେନ୍ସି ଘୋଷଣା କରିଥିଲେ। ଆଉ ଭାରତବାସୀ ଏହାର ଉଚିତ ଜବାବ ଦେଇଥିଲେ। ଜଗନ୍ନାଥଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା ଭାରତ ଏପରି ଦିନ ଆଉ ଦ ଦେଖୁ। ’ ଇନ୍ଦିରା ଏମରଜେନ୍ସି ଘୋଷଣା କରିଥିଲେ । ଆଜି ଏମରଜେନ୍ସିକୁ ପୂରିଛି ୫୧ ବର୍ଷ। ୧୯୭୫ ମସିହା ଜୁନ୍ ୨୫ ତାରିଖ ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ଆଜିର ଦିନରେ ଦେଶରେ ଲାଗୁ ହୋଇଥିଲା ଜରୁରୀ ସ୍ଥିତି । ଏହାକୁ ମନେ ପକାଇ ଏପରି କହିଛନ୍ତି ବରିଷ୍ଠ ବିଜେଡି ନେତା ପ୍ରଫୁଲ୍ଲ ଘଡ଼େଇ।
On the 51st anniversary of the Emergency imposed in India on June 25, 1975, senior BJD leader Prafulla Ghadei strongly criticized the move. He said public opinion had turned against the Congress government at the time and that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared the Emergency to remain in power. Ghadei stated that the people of India later gave a fitting response through the democratic process. He also prayed to Lord Jagannath that the country never witnesses such a period again.
