An 11-year-old girl from Tulapada village in Kalahandi district allegedly lost her life after a 108 ambulance suffered a mechanical failure while she was being rushed for treatment. According to family members, the ambulance remained stranded on the road for nearly three hours due to a technical problem, preventing the child from reaching the hospital in time. The death of Riya Nayak has left her family devastated, with scenes of grief unfolding at the medical facility. The incident has once again raised serious concerns over the condition of emergency healthcare and ambulance services in the district.
