Police have arrested the wife of CRPF jawan Ashok Kumar Behera in connection with the death of the Baliguda-based personnel. The arrest was made after an investigation initiated following complaints lodged by the deceased jawan's family members.
According to police, there had been ongoing discord between the couple and multiple complaints had been filed at the police station on different occasions involving the husband and his family members. The investigation also examined allegations regarding the involvement of another CRPF personnel.
Ashok Kumar Behera had been admitted to hospital after an incident on the 7th and later passed away during treatment. Following the investigation, police claimed to have found evidence suggesting alleged abetment by the accused. Baliguda Police subsequently arrested the wife and sent her to judicial custody. The SDPO has stated that the involvement of another person in the case is also being investigated.
