Allegations of large-scale irregularities have surfaced in the LED Streetlight Project implemented under the 'Ama Gaon Ama Bikash' scheme in Odisha. The project, launched during the previous Naveen Patnaik government with the promise of illuminating villages and panchayats, is now under the scanner over alleged financial misappropriation.
Vigilance teams have been investigating the matter for the past two days after reportedly gathering evidence of alleged irregularities in three districts. The probe has also brought to light the alleged involvement of government officials and agencies associated with the LED streetlight project.
