Oracle to offer Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud as native service on OCI
This means enterprises can access Snowflake through their existing OCI relationship rather than managing a separate commercial arrangement.Oracle and Snowflake have announced that Snowflake AI Data Cloud will be available as a native, first-party service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
The offering will allow customers to purchase, provision and consume Snowflake directly through Oracle, with unified pricing and billing.
This means enterprises can access Snowflake through their existing OCI relationship rather than managing a separate commercial arrangement.
Customers can also use Oracle Universal Credits to pay for the service, leveraging existing cloud commitments and simplifying procurement.“By making Snowflake available as a native OCI service, we’re giving customers more choice in the AI and data capabilities they can use, while simplifying how they deploy, manage, and pay for those services.
This is another way Oracle is helping customers accelerate their AI initiatives and turn innovation into measurable business outcomes,” said Clay Magouyrk, Oracle CEO.
The integration is designed to bring Snowflake’s analytics and AI capabilities closer to enterprise data stored across Oracle services, including Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, Oracle NetSuite, Oracle Autonomous AI Database, MySQL HeatWave and Oracle NoSQL Database. The companies said the offering will support data transfers through native integrations, reducing the need for custom data pipelines and helping enterprises accelerate reporting, data engineering, machine learning and AI-driven insights.
It is also designed to help organisations maintain control over data access, usage and governance while reducing cross-cloud data movement and associated egress costs.“AI has dramatically shortened the distance between enterprise data and real business value.
Snowflake is excited to be the flagship AI data platform partner running as a first-party offering inside Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, giving joint customers the power to turn their Oracle data estates into an AI-ready foundation with the governance and security to move confidently at scale,” Sridhar Ramaswamy, Snowflake CEO, added.
