The 2027 three-tier Panchayat elections in Odisha are likely to be held in April-May, around two months later than the usual February schedule. According to information shared by State Election Commission Secretary Santosh Kumar Dash, the election notification will be issued only after the completion of the ongoing census exercise. With only a few months left for the grassroots democratic exercise, preparations for the elections have already gathered momentum across the state. Once the census process is completed, the stage will be set for villages across Odisha to elect their representatives in the much-awaited Panchayat polls.
