ହାଇକୋର୍ଟରୁ ନିରାଶ ହେଲେ ପୂର୍ବତନ ବିଧାୟକ ପ୍ରଭାତ ବିଶ୍ୱାଳ । ବହୁଚର୍ଚ୍ଚିତ ସିସୋର ଚିଟଫଣ୍ଡ ଠକେଇ ମାମଲାରେ ଚୌଦ୍ୱାର-କଟକର ପୂର୍ବତନ ବିଧାୟକ ପ୍ରଭାତ ରଞ୍ଜନ ବିଶ୍ୱାଳଙ୍କ ଆବେଦନକୁ କୋର୍ଟ ଆଜି ଅଗ୍ରାହ୍ୟ କରିଦେଇଛନ୍ତି । ତାଙ୍କ ବିରୋଧରେ ଥିବା ସିବିଆଇ ମାମଲାକୁ ରଦ୍ଦ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରଭାତ ବିଶ୍ୱାଳ କରିଥିବା କୋର୍ଟରେ ଆବେଦନ କରିଥିଲେ । ତେବେ ହାଇକୋର୍ଟ, ମାମଲା ରଦ୍ଦ କରିବା ସମ୍ପର୍କିତ ଆବେଦନକୁ ଖାରଜ କରିଦେଇଛନ୍ତି । ତେବେ ମାମଲାର ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱ ଏବଂ ଦୀର୍ଘ ଦିନର ବିଳମ୍ବକୁ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ରଖି ଆସନ୍ତା ୬ ମାସ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏହି ମାମଲାର ବିଚାର ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟା ଶେଷ କରିବାକୁ ନିମ୍ନ ଅଦାଲତଙ୍କୁ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ହାଇକୋର୍ଟ। ସିସୋର ଚିଟଫଣ୍ଡ ମାମଲାରେ ଗିରଫ ହେବା ପରେ ଜାମିନରେ ଥିବା ପ୍ରଭାତ ବିଶ୍ୱାଳ ହାଇକୋର୍ଟରେ ଏକ କ୍ରିମିନାଲ ମିସିଲେନିୟସ ପିଟିସନ ଦାଖଲ କରିଥିଲେ। ପୂର୍ବରୁ ହାଇକୋର୍ଟ ଏକ ବର୍ଷ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏହି ଟ୍ରାଏଲ୍ ଶେଷ କରିବାକୁ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ଦେଇଥିଲେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା, ଦୁଇ ବର୍ଷ ପରେ ବି ସିବିଆଇ କୋର୍ଟରେ ଏହାର ବିଚାର ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟା ଶେଷ ହୋଇପାରି ନାହିଁ। ଏହି ଆଧାରରେ ପ୍ରଭାତଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ମାମଲା ରଦ୍ଦ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆବେଦନ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା।

Former Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Prabhat Ranjan Biswal suffered a setback after the Orissa High Court rejected his petition seeking to quash the CBI case against him in the Seashore Chit Fund scam. The plea was filed on the ground that the trial had been delayed despite an earlier court directive to conclude it within one year. While dismissing the petition, the High Court took note of the importance of the case and the prolonged delay in proceedings, and directed the trial court to complete the trial within the next six months. Biswal, who is currently out on bail after his arrest in the chit fund case, had approached the High Court through a criminal miscellaneous petition seeking closure of the proceedings.
