କାଂଶବାଂଶ ନଦୀ ଗମେଇ ନଦୀରେ ବନ୍ୟା। ୮ ଦିନ ପରେ ପାଣି ଧିରେ ଧିରେ କମୁଛି ବନ୍ୟା ପାଣି। ହେଲେ କମିନି ଚାଷୀଙ୍କ ଦୁର୍ଦ୍ଦଶା। ଏବେବି ଶତାଧିକ ହେକ୍ଟର ଚାଷ ଜମି ଉପରେ ୪ ଫୁଟର ବନ୍ୟା ପାଣି ମାରୁଛି ଲହଡି। ଧାନ ଚାଷ, ପରିବା ଚାଷ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ପଚି ନଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇ ଗଲାଣି। ପ୍ରତି ବର୍ଷ ୨ରୁ ୩ ଥର ବନ୍ୟା ଆସିବା କାରଣରୁ ଉଜୁଡି ଯାଉଛି ସୁନାର ଫସଲ। ସ୍ଥାୟୀ ପ୍ରତିକାର ସହିତ କ୍ଷତି ପୂରଣ ଦାବୀ କରିଛନ୍ତି ବାସୁଦେବପୁର ବରଣ୍ତୁଆ ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ଚାଷୀ।
Floodwaters from the Kansabans River and Gamei River have left farmers in the Barantua area of Basudevpur struggling, even as water levels begin to recede after eight days. Around hundreds of hectares of farmland remain submerged under nearly four feet of water, destroying paddy and vegetable crops. Farmers say recurring floods two to three times every year continue to ruin their harvests, and they have demanded adequate compensation along with a permanent solution to the flood problem.
