Chhattisgarh Urges Odisha to Open More Hirakud Dam Gates Amid Flood Threat

ହୀରାକୁଦ ଜଳ ଭଣ୍ଡାରର ଅଧିକ ସଂଖ୍ୟାରେ ଗେଟ୍ ଖୋଲିବା ନେଇ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ଅଧିକାରୀଙ୍କ ସହ ଆଲୋଚନା କଲେ ଛତିଶଗଡ଼ର ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ। ଉପରମୁଣ୍ଡରେ ଅଧିକ ବର୍ଷା କାରଣରୁ ଏବେ ଛତିଶଗଡ଼ରେ ବନ୍ୟା ଆଶଙ୍କା ବଢ଼ିଛି। ଏହାକୁ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ରଖି ଆଜି ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ବରିଷ୍ଠ ଅଧିକାରୀଙ୍କ ସହ ଆଲୋଚନା କରିଛନ୍ତି ଛତିଶଗଡ଼ର ଅର୍ଥମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଓ. ପି. ଚୌଧୁରୀ।

Chhattisgarh Finance Minister O. P. Choudhary held discussions with senior Odisha officials on opening more gates of the Hirakud Dam reservoir amid increasing flood concerns. Continuous rainfall across the Mahanadi basin has raised the risk of flooding in Raigarh, Chandrapur, Sakti, and Sarangarh-Bilaigarh districts of Chhattisgarh. The discussions focused on managing rising water levels and addressing the evolving flood situation in the upper catchment areas.
