Hirakud Dam to Open 22 Gates as Rising Inflow Triggers Higher Water Release

ବଢୁଛି ହୀରାକୁଦ ଡ୍ୟାମର ଜଳସ୍ତର। ଏବେ ହୀରାକୁଦ ଜଳଭଣ୍ଡାରର ୧୪ଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଦେଇ ବନ୍ୟା ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଇଛି । ସଂଧ୍ୟା ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଖୋଲିବ ଆଉ ୮ଟି ଗେଟ୍ । ମୋଟ୍ ୨୨ ଗେଟ୍ ଦେଇ ହେବ ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ । ହୀରାକୁଦକୁ ଇନଫ୍ଲୋ ବଢୁଥିବାରୁ ଅଧିକ ଗେଟ୍ ଖୋଲିବ। ଏନେଇ ସୂଚନା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ଜଳ ସମ୍ପଦ ସର୍ବୋଚ୍ଚ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀପ ରାଉତ। ହୀରାକୁଦରୁ ଏବେ ୨ ଲକ୍ଷ କ୍ୟୁସେକ ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସିତ ହେଉଛି । ୨୨ଟି ଗେଟରୁ ସାଢ଼େ ୩ ଲକ୍ଷ କ୍ୟୁସେକ ପାଣି ହୀରାକୁଦରୁ ଛଡ଼ାଯିବ । ଖଇରମାଳରେ ୫ ଲକ୍ଷ ୨୭ ହଜାର କ୍ୟୁସେକ ପାଣି ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହେଉଛି । ହୀରାକୁଦ ପାଣି ଆସିଲେ ପ୍ରାୟ ସାଢ଼େ ୭ ଲକ୍ଷ ପାଣି ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହେବ ।
The Hirakud Dam has increased floodwater discharge as inflow into the reservoir continues to rise. Water is currently being released through 14 gates, with eight more gates scheduled to open by evening, taking the total to 22 gates. According to Water Resources Department Chief Engineer Dilip Raut, the current discharge is around 2 lakh cusecs, which will increase to around 3.5 lakh cusecs after all 22 gates are opened. At Khairmal, the river is already carrying 5.27 lakh cusecs, and the flow is expected to rise to around 7.5 lakh cusecs once the additional water reaches downstream areas.
