ବ୍ୟାଙ୍କକୁ କଙ୍କାଳ ବୋହିନେବା ଘଟଣାରେ ମ୍ୟାନେଜର ସସପେଣ୍ଡ। ଘଟଣାରେ ନବୀନଙ୍କ ଚିଠିର ଉତ୍ତର ରଖି କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଅର୍ଥ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ପଙ୍କଜ ଚୌଧୁରୀ ଦର୍ଶାଇଛନ୍ତି ଯେ, ମଲ୍ଲିପୋଷି ଓଡ଼ିଶା ଗ୍ରାମୀଣ ବ୍ୟାଙ୍କ ଶାଖାରେ ମୃତ ଗ୍ରାହକଙ୍କ ଖାତାର ଦାବି ନିର୍ବାହକୁ ନେଇ ଉଠିଥିବା ଘଟଣାକୁ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ସରକାର ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱ ସହ ନେଇଛନ୍ତି। ମୃତ ଜମାକାରୀଙ୍କ ଖାତାରେ କୌଣସି ନାମିତ ଉତ୍ତରାଧିକାରୀ ନଥିବାରୁ ଦାବି ନିର୍ବାହ ପାଇଁ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ସନଦ ଓ ଆଇନଗତ ଉତ୍ତରାଧିକାରୀଙ୍କ ଦଲିଲ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ଥିଲା। ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ପ୍ରଶାସନର ହସ୍ତକ୍ଷେପ ପରେ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ଦଲିଲ ମିଳିଥିଲା ଏବଂ ୧୯ ହଜାର ୪୦୨ ଟଙ୍କାର ଦାବି ରାଶି ଜିତୁ ମୁଣ୍ଡା ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦୁଇ ଆଇନଗତ ଉତ୍ତରାଧିକାରୀଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଦେୟ ହୋଇଥିଲା। ଅର୍ଥ ସେବା ବିଭାଗ ଏହି ଘଟଣାକୁ ଗୁରୁତର ଭାବେ ନେଇଥିବା ବେଳେ ବ୍ୟାଙ୍କିଂ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟରେ ନିୟମ ପାଳନ ସହ ଗ୍ରାହକଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ସମ୍ବେଦନଶୀଳ ଓ ସହାନୁଭୂତିଶୀଳ ବ୍ୟବହାର ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ବୋଲି ଉଲ୍ଲେଖ ରହିଛି। ବ୍ୟାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରସ୍ତରୀୟ କର୍ମଚାରୀଙ୍କୁ ଗ୍ରାହକଙ୍କ ସହ ଦୟାଶୀଳ, ସହାନୁଭୂତିଶୀଳ ଓ ସ୍ୱଚ୍ଛ ସେବା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିବାକୁ ପରାମର୍ଶ ଜାରି କରାଯାଇଛି। ଘଟଣାର ପୁନରାବୃତ୍ତି ରୋକିବା ପାଇଁ ଦେଶର ୨୮ଟି ଆଞ୍ଚଳିକ ଗ୍ରାମୀଣ ବ୍ୟାଙ୍କକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଅର୍ଥ ସେବା ବିଭାଗ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ପରାମର୍ଶ ଜାରି କରାଯାଇଛି। ବିଶେଷକରି ଗ୍ରାମୀଣ, ଆଦିବାସୀ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ଦୁର୍ବଳ ବର୍ଗର ଗ୍ରାହକଙ୍କୁ ଅଧିକ ସମ୍ବେଦନଶୀଳ ଓ ସ୍ୱଚ୍ଛ ସେବା ଯୋଗାଇବାକୁ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି।

The Central Government has taken serious note of the incident involving the carrying of a skeleton to the Malliposhi branch of Odisha Grameen Bank for settlement of a deceased depositor's claim. Responding to a letter from Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary stated that the bank manager has been suspended and the matter has been treated with utmost seriousness. Since the deceased account holder had not nominated any beneficiary, documents including a death certificate and legal heir certificates were required for claim settlement. Following intervention by the local administration, a claim amount of Rs 19,402 was released in favour of Jitu Munda and two other legal heirs. The Department of Financial Services has also issued advisories to all field-level banking staff and 28 Regional Rural Banks, stressing compassionate, transparent and sensitive customer service, especially for rural, tribal and vulnerable communities.
