A major fire and explosion at Qatar's Ras Laffan LNG Complex has claimed 13 lives, including some Indian nationals, while 66 others were injured. Qatar's Energy Minister Saad Al-Kaabi said the explosion occurred at the LNG facility, reportedly at the Barzan gas supply centre, as workers resumed operations after a shutdown. Authorities have described the incident as a "mechanical accident" and ruled out any sabotage or hostile attack. Qatar's Ministry of Energy has assured that global gas exports will remain unaffected and that there is no environmental threat, while a formal investigation into the incident has been launched.
