A tragic incident has been reported from Baripada in Mayurbhanj district, where Deepak Kumar Barik of Kamata village under Kuliana Police Station limits was found hanging in an abandoned house near a police station area. He was later declared dead at PRM Medical College Hospital, Baripada. The incident is linked to severe mental distress after his leased car was reportedly stolen.
According to the family, Deepak had taken a car on lease for his livelihood, but after it was stolen, he suffered heavy financial and emotional pressure. Despite repeatedly approaching the police and even staging protests, they allege no effective action was taken.
The family further claims that prolonged inaction led to extreme mental distress and the tragic outcome. Police have not yet issued any official response regarding the allegations.
