A portion of the ceiling suddenly collapsed in the maternity ward of Udala Sub-Divisional Hospital, narrowly missing a newborn and the baby's mother, Sanjulata Patra. The incident occurred while the mother was holding her newborn, with debris falling onto her back. Fortunately, the infant escaped unhurt. In a separate incident, another person walking through the ward was also struck by falling ceiling debris, raising fresh concerns over the hospital's infrastructure and patient safety.
