ହୀରାକୁଦ ଡ୍ୟାମରୁ ଭୟଙ୍କର ରୂପ ଧାରଣ କରି ମାଡ଼ିଆସୁଛି ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ। ଏବେ ହୀରାକୁଦ ଜଳଭଣ୍ଡାରରୁ ମୋଟ୍ ୨୨ଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଦେଇ ବନ୍ୟା ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଉଛି। ହୀରାକୁଦକୁ ଇନଫ୍ଲୋ ବଢୁଥିବାରୁ ଖୋଲାଯାଇଛି ଅଧିକ ଗେଟ୍। ଏନେଇ ସୂଚନା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ଜଳ ସମ୍ପଦ ସର୍ବୋଚ୍ଚ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀପ ରାଉତ। ହୀରାକୁଦକୁ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରୁଛି ୪ ଲକ୍ଷ ୧୫ ହଜାର ୧୭ କ୍ୟୁସେକ ଜଳ। ହୀରାକୁଦରୁ ଏବେ ୩ ଲକ୍ଷ ୮୯ ହଜାର କ୍ୟୁସେକ ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସିତ ହେଉଛି।
Floodwater is surging downstream from Hirakud Dam as the reservoir continues to witness a rise in inflow. According to Chief Engineer, Water Resources Department, Dillip Kumar Rout, water is currently being released through 22 gates after additional gates were opened to manage the increasing inflow. The reservoir is receiving 4,15,017 cusecs of water, while 3,89,000 cusecs are being discharged, prompting authorities to closely monitor the flood situation and caution downstream areas.
