The body of Binapani Singh has remained in the mortuary freezer of PRM Medical College and Hospital, Baripada, for seven days after neither her parental family nor her marital family agreed to perform her last rites, according to the source. The incident has been reported from Chilabasa village under Betanati Police Station in Mayurbhanj district. The source states that Binapani had married Manas Singh, and the couple had three daughters. Following years of marital disputes, she had been living separately after village mediation. After she reportedly fell ill and was admitted to the hospital, her death led to a deadlock over her final rites, with repeated village meetings failing to resolve the issue.
