Protests Spread from Puri to Bhubaneswar Over Rath Yatra Date Controversy

ଜଗନ୍ନାଥ ସଂସ୍କୃତି ଓ ପରମ୍ପରା ସହ କୋଟି କୋଟି ଜଗନ୍ନାଥପ୍ରେମୀଙ୍କ ଭାବାବେଗକୁ ନେଇ ଖେଳୁଥିବା ଇସ୍କନକୁ ଆଉ ତ୍ରାହି ନାହିଁ। ତିଥି ବାହାରେ ରଥଯାତ୍ରା ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗରେ ମହାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଦ୍ୟ ସେବକ ଗଜପତି ମହାରାଜାଙ୍କ ଆବେଦନକୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟାଖାନ୍ ପରଠୁ ତେଜିଛି ଇସ୍କନ ବିରୋଧୀ ନିଆଁ। ଶ୍ରୀକ୍ଷେତ୍ର ପୁରୀରୁ ରାଜଧାନୀ ଭୁବନେଶ୍ବର, ସବୁଠି ରାସ୍ତାକୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ବିଦ୍ରୋହର ମଶାଲ୍ ଧରିଛନ୍ତି ବିଭିନ୍ନ ସଂଗଠନ। ଆଉ ଏହି ବିଦ୍ରୋହ ଭିତରେ ସ୍ବର ମିଳାଇଛି ଭୁବନେଶ୍ବର ଇସ୍କନ। ତାସହ ଅଦିନିଆ ରଥଯାତ୍ରା ବନ୍ଦ ପାଇଁ ନିଜ ପରିଚାଳନା କମିଟିକୁ ନିବେଦନ କରି କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ସରକାର ହସ୍ତକ୍ଷେପ କରନ୍ତୁ ବୋଲି କହିଛି।

Opposition against ISKCON has intensified over the issue of holding Rath Yatra outside the traditional tithi. The controversy escalated after the appeal made by the Gajapati Maharaja, regarded as the foremost servitor of Mahaprabhu, was reportedly rejected.
From Srikhetra Puri to the state capital Bhubaneswar, various organisations have taken to the streets in protest, alleging that the issue affects Jagannath culture, traditions and the sentiments of devotees.
Amid the protests, Bhubaneswar ISKCON has also appealed to its management committee to stop the off-schedule Rath Yatra and has called for intervention by the Central Government on the matter.
