A rare and remarkable medical emergency unfolded in Odisha where a pregnant woman travelling on the Rourkela–Gunupur Rajya Rani Express gave birth to twins in two different locations during her journey.
According to reports, the woman suddenly developed labour pain while travelling in the train’s general coach. Railway authorities were alerted through Rail Madad, after which Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel reached Cuttack Railway Station and arranged immediate medical assistance. A pharmacist at the station also voluntarily stepped forward to provide first aid to the mother and newborn.
