ଅଳ୍ପକେ ବର୍ତ୍ତିଲେ ୪୦ ଯାତ୍ରୀ । ଜାତୀୟ ରାଜପଥରେ ହୁତୁହୁତୁ ହୋଇ ଜଳିଗଲା ଯାତ୍ରୀବାହୀ ବସ୍ । ଅନୁଗୁଳ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଖମାର ଥାନା ଅନ୍ତର୍ଗତ ବାରକୋଟିଆ ନିକଟରେ ଏଭଳି ଏକ ଭୟଙ୍କର ଅଗ୍ନିକାଣ୍ଡ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ମିଳିଛି । ଯେଉଁଠି ଏକ ଚଳନ୍ତା ଯାତ୍ରୀବାହୀ ବସ୍ ନିଆଁ ଲାଗିଯାଇ ହୁତୁହୁତ ହୋଇ ଜଳୁଛି । ସୂଚନା ମୁତାବକ ଗତକାଲି ବିଳମ୍ବିତ ରାତିରେ ସୀମା ନାମକ ଏକ ଯାତ୍ରୀବାହୀ ବସ୍ ରାଉରକେଲାରୁ କେନ୍ଦ୍ରାପଡ଼ା ଅଭିମୁଖେ ଯାଉଥିଲା । ହଠାତ୍ ଜାତୀୟ ରାଜପଥ ୧୪୯ର ବାରକୋଟିଆ ନିକଟରେ ସର୍ଟ ସର୍କିଟ ହୋଇ ବସ୍ ଟି ଜଳିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଥିଲା । ଯାତ୍ରୀମାନେ ଭୟଭୀତ ହୋଇ ବସରୁ ବାହାରକୁ ବାହାରି ଆସିଥିଲେ । ଏହି ଅଗ୍ନିକାଣ୍ଡରେ ଯାତ୍ରୀ ମାନଙ୍କର କୌଣସି କ୍ଷତି ହୋଇନଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ବସ ଭିତରେ ଥିବା ଯାତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କର ଜିନିଷପତ୍ର ହୁତୁହୁତୁ ହୋଇ ଜଳିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଥିଲା । ନିଆଁକୁ ଆୟତ୍ତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ପାଳଲହଡା ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ ବିଭାଗ ଓ ପରେ ବାରକୋଟ ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ ବିଭାଗର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ ନିଆ ଯାଇଥିଲା। ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳରେ ପୋଲିସ ପହଞ୍ଚି ଅଧିକ ତଦନ୍ତ ଜାରି ରଖିଛି।

A major mishap was averted after a passenger bus caught fire on National Highway-149 near Barkotia under Khamar police limits in Odisha's Angul district. The incident occurred late at night when the Seema passenger bus was travelling from Rourkela to Kendrapara. Around 40 passengers onboard managed to escape safely after the bus suddenly caught fire near Barkotia.
According to reports, the blaze reportedly broke out due to a suspected short circuit, causing the moving bus to be engulfed in flames. Panic-stricken passengers immediately got down from the vehicle, narrowly escaping the mishap. While no casualties or injuries were reported, passengers lost their belongings as the fire gutted the bus.
Firefighters from Pallahara Fire Station, assisted later by the Barkote Fire Service team, rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. Police have reached the scene and initiated an investigation into the incident.
