A mother and her daughter were found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a locked house at Dokeipal village under Mahuldiha area in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district. The bodies were recovered on Friday, with initial reports suggesting that the two may have been murdered by slitting their throats. However, the exact motive behind the suspected killings remains unclear.
Police and a scientific team have launched an investigation into the incident. Suspicion has reportedly fallen on the husband, Chaitanya, after discrepancies were noticed in his statements. He has been detained by police for questioning in connection with the case.
Investigators have also seized an axe from the house as part of the probe. However, police are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the deaths.
