ମହାନଦୀରେ ବନ୍ୟା ପାଣି ଆସୁଥିବାରୁ କଟକ ମୁଣ୍ଡଳୀଠାରେ ବଢୁଛି ମହାନଦୀର ଜଳସ୍ତର। ପ୍ରତି ସେକେଣ୍ଡରେ ୮ ଲକ୍ଷ ୧୩ ହଜାର ୪୨୮ କ୍ୟୁସେକ୍ ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଉଛି। ଆଜି ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ସୁଦ୍ଧା ପ୍ରାୟ ୯ ଲକ୍ଷ କ୍ୟୁସେକ୍ ପାଣି ଆସିବା ସମ୍ଭାବନା ଅଛି। ଏତେ ପରିମାଣର ପାଣି ଆସିବା ପରେ ମହାନଦୀ ଓ ଏହାର ଶାଖା ନଦୀଗୁଡ଼ିକର ତଳିଆ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ପ୍ରଭାବ ପଡ଼ିବାର ଆଶଙ୍କା ଦେଖାଦେଇଛି।
The Mahanadi River is witnessing a steady rise in water level at Mundali in Cuttack district as floodwater continues to flow downstream. The river is currently discharging 8,13,428 cusecs of water, with the inflow expected to reach around 9 lakh cusecs by this evening.
