A special team led by Sambalpur Range Jail DIG Manoranjan Pratihari conducted a late-night raid at Jharsuguda District Jail on Tuesday. During the search operation, officials recovered a large quantity of bidis, cigarettes, liquor and cannabis from inmates' cells. Several senior officials from the Sambalpur Jail administration also participated in the raid. The operation was carried out as part of a prison search, leading to the seizure of prohibited items from inside the jail premises.
