Amid incessant rainfall, authorities have declared the closure of schools in seven districts of Odisha—Cuttack, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Sambalpur and Balangir. Schools under the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation and Dhanakauda Block will also remain closed due to the prevailing weather conditions. Continuous rain has led to widespread waterlogging across several areas, disrupting normal life and prompting precautionary measures by the district administrations.
