ପିଲାବେଳୁ କାଳିଆ ପ୍ରତି ଅଗାଢ ଭକ୍ତି। ମାତ୍ର ୭ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସରୁ ଶ୍ରୀବିଗ୍ରହଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ତିଆରି କରିଆସୁଛନ୍ତି କାଗଜ ରଥ । ଭୁବନେଶ୍ୱର ପାତ୍ରପଡାର ୨୦ ବର୍ଷୀୟ ସୁମିତ କୁମାର ଦାସ ରଥ ନିର୍ମାଣ କରି ଆଜି ନିଜର ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ପରିଚୟ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଏପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେ ୮୪ଟି ରଥ ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିଥିବାବେଳେ ଦେଶର ୧୬ଟି ରାଜ୍ୟକୁ ପଠାଇଛନ୍ତି ୨୨ଟି ରଥ।
Driven by deep devotion to Lord Jagannath since childhood, 20-year-old Sumit Kumar Das from Patrapada in Bhubaneswar has transformed his passion into a unique craft. He has been making intricate paper chariots for the deities since the age of seven and has built a remarkable identity through his work.
