Even though the floodwaters have receded, the devastation continues for farmers in Lakshmidaspur under Basudevpur block of Odisha's Bhadrak district. Paddy seedlings have completely rotted after remaining submerged under floodwater for nearly eight days, leaving vast stretches of farmland devastated and causing heavy crop losses. With their golden harvest wiped out, distressed farmers are now sharing their plight and appealing for support as they struggle to recover from the flood's aftermath.
