Political exchanges have intensified over the flood situation in Jajpur district, Odisha. BJD MLA Sujata Sahu visited flood-affected areas and alleged that government assistance was not reaching affected people. She claimed that essential supplies like halogen tablets, ORS, and cooked food were not being provided adequately to flood victims.

Sujata Sahu further alleged that government officials were busy accompanying ruling party MPs and MLAs during visits to flood-hit areas instead of focusing on relief work. Responding to the allegations, BJP MP Rabindra Narayan Behera criticised the BJD, stating that the party failed to take adequate steps during its 24-year rule. He claimed that proper river embankment measures could have prevented such a situation and said the present government is actively managing the flood response.

The political war of words comes as several parts of Jajpur continue to deal with the impact of flooding and waterlogging.
