Firefighter Dies of Electrocution While Saving Flood-Affected People in Keonjhar

ବନ୍ୟା ପ୍ରଭାବିତଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବାକୁ ଯାଇ ଜୀବନ ହରାଇଲେ ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ ବାହିନୀ କର୍ମଚାରୀ । କରେଣ୍ଟ ଲାଗିଯିବାରୁ ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳରେ ହିଁ ଆଖି ବୁଜିଲେ। କେନ୍ଦୁଝର ବନ୍ୟାଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟରେ ନିୟୋଜିତ ଯୁବ ଆଗ୍ନିକ ଚନ୍ଦନ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହୋଇଛି। ଏହି ଅଘଟଣ ଭିତରେ ପୁଅକୁ ହରାଇ ଭାଙ୍ଗିପଡ଼ିଛି ପରିବାର। ତାଳଚେର ଖୋଲୁଆ ଗାଁର ଚନ୍ଦନ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକ ଗତ ବର୍ଷେ ତଳେ ଚାକିରିରେ ଯୋଗଦେଇଥିଲେ। ଘରର ଏକ ମାତ୍ର ରୋଜଗାରିଆ ପୁଅକୁ ହରାଇ ପୂରା ପରିବାର ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାଙ୍ଗିପଡ଼ିଛନ୍ତି। ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ କର୍ମଚାରୀଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁକୁ ନେଇ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ମୋହନ ଚରଣ ମାଝୀ ଗଭୀର ଦୁଃଖପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବା ସହ ଶୋକସନ୍ତପ୍ତ ପରିବାରବର୍ଗଙ୍କୁ ସମବେଦନା ଜଣାଇଛନ୍ତି ।

A young firefighter, Chandan Pattnaik, lost his life while engaged in flood-relief operations in Keonjhar. The firefighter from Kholua village in Talcher had joined the service about a year ago and was part of a team deployed to drain stagnant floodwater in Keonjhar town. While pumping out water from a house, he came in contact with a GI wire that had become electrically charged, resulting in a fatal electric shock. His colleagues rescued him and rushed him to the District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Chandan was the sole earning member of his family, leaving his family devastated. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep grief over the firefighter’s death and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
