Father-Son Duo Detained for Allegedly Rebranding Expired Products in Khordha

Commissionerate Police have detained a father-son duo in connection with an alleged racket involving the sale of expired food items and cosmetics with altered expiry dates in Balipatna area of Khordha district. Acting on a tip-off, police seized a container loaded with expired biscuits and raided a warehouse storing various expired products.
According to allegations, the traders used chemicals to erase expiry markings on food items and cosmetics before affixing new stamps and selling them in the market. During the raid, police recovered expired goods and old packaged products from the warehouse. Local residents protested against the alleged illegal trade and demanded strict action against those involved. Police have sealed the warehouse and are questioning the accused, although an official statement on the matter is yet to be issued.
