Father Dies Saving 8-Year-Old Son from Mahanadi River During Kanwar Water Collection

ପୁଅକୁ ବଂଚାଇବାକୁ ଯାଇ ବୁଡିଗଲେ ବାପା। ଶ୍ରାବଣ ସୋମବାର ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଆଜି ମହାନଦୀ କୂଳରେ ଘଟିଛି ଏହି ଅଘଟଣ। ପାରାଦୀପ ଉପକଣ୍ଠ ଭୂତମୁଣ୍ଡାଇ ନିକଟ ମହାନଦୀରୁ ପାଣି ଉଠାଇବାକୁ ଆଜି ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟାରେ ୩୦ ଜଣ କାଉଡ଼ିଆ ପହଁଚିଥିଲେ। ଆଉ ପାଣି ଉଠାଉଥିବା ବେଳେ ହିଁ ଏହି ଅଘଟଣ ଘଟିଛି। ମୃତକ ହେଲେ ପାରାଦୀପ ନିମିଢି ଗାଁର ଇଶ୍ବର ବାରିକ। ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ୮ ବର୍ଷର ପୁଅ ପାଣି ଉଠାଇବା ବେଳେ ପ୍ରଥମେ ବୁଡି ଯାଉଥିଲେ। ଇଶ୍ବର ପାଣିକୁ ଡେଇଁ ପୁଅକୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିଥିଲେ, ହେଲେ ନିଜେ ସ୍ରୋତରେ ଭାସିଯାଇଥିଲେ। ପାଖରେ ଥିବା ଅନ୍ୟ କାଉଡିଆ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧା କରିବାକୁ ଉଦ୍ୟମ କରିଥିଲେ ବି ବିଫଳ ହୋଇଥିଲେ। ଶେଷରେ ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳରେ କୁଜଙ୍ଗ ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ ବାହିନୀ ପହଂଚି ଖୋଜାଖୋଜି କରିଥିଲେ। କିଛି ସମୟ ପରେ ନିଖୋଜ ଇଶ୍ବର ଉଦ୍ଧାର ହୋଇଥିଲେ ସତ ହେଲେ ହସପିଟାଲରେ ଡାକ୍ତର ତାଙ୍କୁ ମୃତ ଘୋଷଣା କରିଥିଲେ। ସେପଟେ ୮ ବର୍ଷର ପୁଅକୁ ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ହସ୍ପିଟାଲରେ ଭର୍ତ୍ତି କରାଯାଇଛି।

A tragic incident unfolded on the banks of the Mahanadi River near Bhutamundai on the outskirts of Paradip, where Ishwar Barik of Nimidi village lost his life while rescuing his 8-year-old son from drowning. The incident occurred on Sunday evening as nearly 30 Kanwariya devotees had gathered to collect holy water ahead of Shravan Somvar.

According to the source, the child slipped into the river while collecting water. Ishwar Barik immediately jumped into the river and successfully saved his son but was swept away by the strong current. Fellow devotees attempted to rescue him but were unsuccessful. Kujang Fire Services later recovered him, but doctors declared him dead at the hospital. The child has been admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
