The Odisha School and Mass Education Department has launched an initiative to correct major errors found in newly published school textbooks by inviting public suggestions through social media within seven days. Based on the feedback received, the department plans to revise and reprint the textbooks. Following criticism over mistakes made by the Editorial Committee and the Core Committee, work on the corrected editions has begun on a priority basis. Meanwhile, several educationists have expressed disappointment over not being consulted during the review process. Until the revised books are printed, the department has directed schools to use the corrected PDF copies for classroom teaching.
