A shocking incident of alleged domestic violence has been reported from Patharghata village under Bhogarai block in Balasore district, where a daughter-in-law allegedly attacked her mother-in-law with a sharp cutting tool following a family dispute. The incident took place when the elderly woman was reportedly alone at home.
According to reports, the attack stemmed from an ongoing family feud. In a fit of rage, the daughter-in-law allegedly assaulted her mother-in-law with a paniki (a traditional sharp cutting implement), leaving her critically injured.
The injured woman was initially provided medical assistance and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment. On receiving information about the incident, Bhogarai Police reached the spot, detained the accused daughter-in-law and launched an investigation into the matter.
