Balianta murder case: Soumya Ranjan’s personal diary to unravel hidden truths
The investigation into the murder of GRP constable Soumya Ranjan Swain in Balianta has taken a new turn after fresh claims surfaced regarding a personal diary that may contain crucial information about his life and the circumstances leading up to his death.
On Saturday, the Crime Branch questioned Soumya Ranjan's friend, Nishikant Mohanty, as part of its ongoing investigation. Following the questioning, Soumya's friend reiterated allegations regarding the alleged involvement of ADG Dayal Gangwar in the case.
According to Nishikant, Soumya Ranjan maintained a diary in which he regularly documented important events and experiences from his life. He claimed that the constable had recorded details about the difficulties he was facing and the people he believed were causing him distress.
Nishikant further alleged that Soumya Ranjan had written in the diary that he was being threatened by ADG Dayal Gangwar and a gym owner based in Bhubaneswar. He also reportedly mentioned that he was under severe mental stress and had even considered resigning from his job.
The friend believes the diary could provide investigators with valuable information and help establish a clearer picture of the circumstances surrounding the case. Investigators are expected to examine the contents of the diary closely as part of the probe.
The murder case has already drawn significant public attention, and the latest claims are likely to intensify scrutiny of the investigation. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding the contents of the diary.
Meanwhile, a response from ADG Dayal Gangwar on the allegations was not available at the time of reporting.
