A 7-year-old Class II student who went missing from a government school in Bhubaneswar was found dead in a water-filled pit behind the Reserve Police ground near Kalinga Stadium. The girl had gone to school in the morning but did not return home, following which her family searched the school and nearby areas for hours. Police later recovered her body from the water-filled pit. The family has alleged negligence by the school authorities and lodged a written complaint at Kharavela Nagar Police Station. The incident has raised serious questions over how a seven-year-old student went missing from the school premises and whether there were lapses in the safety arrangements. The school authorities' response was not available.
