Satiating Thirst at Kundhei Weekly Market with a Water Shelter

Kakatpur, 12/04/2025 (Tushar Dixit) – Amidst the ongoing severe heatwave across the state, a public welfare initiative has been launched at the Kundhei weekly market under the Kakatpur block. The initiative is aimed at quenching the thirst of vendors and visitors arriving from various nearby villages. Under the leadership of Samiti Member Pramod Kishore Das, a group of motivated youths from Kundhei Gram Panchayat have started distributing chilled buttermilk (dahi sarbat) within the market premises.

This relief effort is planned to continue over the next two months. A dedicated water shelter has been set up in the market area to provide refreshment for both traders and commuters. Additionally, shaded rest points (Chamundia) have been arranged in various locations where lemon water, buttermilk, and drinking water are being served to help people stay cool and hydrated.

Both the general public and local traders have expressed their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for this meaningful effort. Youth volunteers Ranjan Nayak, Ravi Nayak, Litu Nayak, Dipu Nayak, Umesh Sahu, Tuna Nayak, Chikuna Maharana, and Bharat Nayak actively supported the campaign. The residents of Kundhei Gram Panchayat have also extended their admiration and praise for the commendable community service.
