UPI Payments Above ₹2,000 May Attract Charges Under Proposed Law Amendment

UPI ବ୍ୟବହାରକାରୀଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ବଡ଼ ଅପଡେଟ୍। ୨ହଜାର ଟଙ୍କାରୁ ଅଧିକ UPI ପେମେଣ୍ଟରେ ଲାଗିପାରେ ଶୁଳ୍କ । ଏନେଇ ସରକାର ପେମେଣ୍ଟ ଏବଂ ସେଟେଲମେଣ୍ଟ ସିଷ୍ଟମ ଆଇନରେ ଆଣିଛନ୍ତି ସଂଶୋଧନ ପ୍ରସ୍ତାବ । ଏହି ପ୍ରସ୍ତାବ ଭବିଷ୍ୟତରେ UPI ଟ୍ରାଞ୍ଜାକ୍ସନ୍ ରେ ମର୍ଚାଣ୍ଟ ଡିସକାଉଣ୍ଟ ରେଟ୍ ବା MDR ଲାଗୁ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆଇନଗତ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଆଣିପାରେ।

The Central Government has proposed amendments to the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, which could create a legal framework for introducing a Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) on UPI transactions. According to the proposal, UPI payments above ₹2,000 may attract charges in the future if the amendment is implemented. The proposal is aimed at enabling a legal mechanism for MDR on UPI transactions and has sparked interest among digital payment users across the country.
