US President Donald Trump reaffirmed America's strong support for India during bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France. Trump described India as a trusted friend of the United States and said America would stand by India if it faced any attack. He also emphasized India's important role in establishing peace in West Asia, highlighted his close personal relationship with Prime Minister Modi, and said the two countries were moving closer to a trade deal. Trump further stated that the US would not force India to import oil from America. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi said peace had returned to West Asia due to Trump's efforts and expressed India's support for keeping the Strait of Hormuz open in the interest of the global economy.
