Odisha Supply Assistants Continue Protest, Demand Permanent Jobs After 14 Years of Service

ନବମ ଦିନରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଲା ଓଡ଼ିଶା ରାଜ୍ୟ ଯୋଗାଣ ସହାୟକ ସଂଘର ଧାରଣା । ସ୍ଥାୟୀ ନିଯୁକ୍ତି ଦାବିରେ ଧାରଣାରେ ବସିଛି ସଂଘ। ରାଜ୍ୟରୁ ୩୨୦୦ ରୁ ଅଧିକ ଯୋଗାଣ ସହାୟକ ବିଧାନସଭା ସାମ୍ନାରେ ଧାରଣାରେ ବସିଛନ୍ତି । ୮ ହାଜର ଟଙ୍କା ଦରମାରେ ୧୪ବର୍ଷରୁ ଉର୍ଦ୍ଧ କାମ କରିଥଲେ ବି ସ୍ଥାୟୀ ନିଯୁକ୍ତି କରୁନାହାନ୍ତି ସରକାର । ବାରମ୍ବାର ଦାବି ପରେ ବି ସରକାର ଶୁଣୁ ନ ଥିବାରୁ ଶେଷରେ ଧାରଣାରେ ବସିଛି ସଂଘ । ସଂଘ କହିଛି, ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ହଇରାଣ କରିବା ଆମ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ସ୍ୱଳ୍ପ ଦରମାରେ ପରିବାର ଚଳୁନ ଥିବାରୁ ଶେଷରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ବନ୍ଦ କରି ଧାରଣାରେ ବସିଛୁ । ସରକାର ଆମ ଗୋଟିଏ ଦାବି ପୂରଣ ନକଲେ ରାଜରାସ୍ତାରେ ଧାରଣାରେ ବସିବୁ, ଫଳରେ PDS ବଣ୍ଟନ ବନ୍ଦ ରହିବ ବୋଲି ଚେତାବନୀ ଦେଇଛି ସଙ୍ଘ ।

The protest by the Odisha State Supply Assistants' Association has entered its ninth day, with over 3,200 supply assistants staging a dharna in front of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. The protesters allege that despite working for more than 14 years on a monthly salary of ₹8,000, the government has not regularised their services. The association said it does not intend to inconvenience the public, but low wages have forced them to suspend work and continue their protest. It has also warned that if their demand for permanent appointments is not met, the agitation will intensify and Public Distribution System (PDS) operations could be affected.
