Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is closely monitoring the flood and waterlogging situation caused by heavy rainfall, particularly in the northern districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur. According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), immediate dewatering, rescue, and relief operations are being carried out on a war footing in affected urban areas.

The CMO said that the leave of officials and staff under the Housing and Urban Development Department has been cancelled, with 24×7 control rooms monitoring the situation. Additional pump sets have been deployed to drain water from inundated roads and residential areas, while safe drinking water, cooked and dry food are being supplied and people are being shifted to safer locations. The government has also directed all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to prepare a strong drainage master plan for a long-term solution to recurring waterlogging. The CMO urged citizens to follow official advisories, assuring that public safety remains the government's top priority.
