The counting of donations from nine hundis (donation boxes) at Maa Majhighariani Temple in Rayagada began today under tight security arrangements. Around 250 women volunteers have been deployed for the exercise, which is being conducted under the supervision of the Tehsildar, in the presence of members of the temple management committee and police personnel. During the previous counting held on January 19, the temple received ₹1,05,52,845 in cash, 2.150 kg of silver, 30 grams of gold, along with 23 foreign and demonetised notes.
