Nine fishermen have lost their lives while six others remain missing after a fishing trawler reportedly capsized during a Hilsa fishing expedition in deep sea waters along the Odisha-West Bengal border. The 15 fishermen had gone missing 11 days ago after setting out from Digha for Hilsa fishing in the deep sea.
Among those onboard were three brothers from the Bhograi area. According to the report, the fishing trawler overturned during a marine storm, leading to the deaths of nine fishermen. Search operations are still underway to trace the remaining six missing fishermen.
