ବଢୁଛି ମହାନଦୀ ଜଳସ୍ତର। ଗତକାଲି ହୀରାକୁଦ ଜଳ ଭଣ୍ଡାରରୁ ୧୦ଟି ଗେଟ ଦେଇ ପ୍ରଥମ ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ଆସିବା ପରେ ଜଳସ୍ତର ବଢିଛି l ତେବେ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣପୁରକୁ ଏହି ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ପହଞ୍ଚିବାକୁ ୧୮ ଘଣ୍ଟା ସମୟ ଲାଗିଥାଏ l ଏଣୁ ଆଜି ସକାଳ ସାଢେ ୬ଟା ସମୟରେ ପ୍ରଥମେ ଛଡାଯାଇଥିବା ୪ଟି ଗେଟର ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ସୋନପୁରରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଛି l ପରେ ଛଡାଯାଇଥିବା ଅନ୍ୟ ୬ଟି ଗେଟର ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ସକାଳ ୧୦ଟା ପରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିବ l ତେବେ ଏହି ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ସୋନପୁରକୁ ପହଁଚିଲା ପରେ ମହାନଦୀର ଜଳସ୍ତର ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଇଛି
The water level of the Mahanadi River has started rising after the first batch of floodwater released through 10 gates of the Hirakud Reservoir reached Sonepur in Subarnapur district. According to the source, it takes around 18 hours for the released water to travel from Hirakud to Sonepur. The floodwater released through the first four gates reached Sonepur at around 6:30 AM, while water discharged from the remaining six gates was expected to arrive after 10:00 AM. With the inflow of floodwater, the Mahanadi's water level has increased, prompting caution for people living along the riverbanks.
