Since Goddess Lakshmi was not taken along during the journey, she is believed to be upset. To win back her affection, Mahaprabhu offers the famous Rasagola, symbolically saying, "Do not be angry, my beloved, have a Rasagola." This age-old ritual marks the emotional conclusion of the Rath Yatra and celebrates the eternal bond between Lord Jagannath and Goddess Lakshmi.
