A major anti-corruption crackdown unfolded as Jeypore Deputy Director of Mines, Satyajit Raut, was caught red-handed by the Vigilance team while allegedly accepting a ₹2 lakh bribe from a sand trader. The bribe was reportedly demanded for extending the lease period of a sand mining operation.
