Floodwater released through all 10 gates of the Hirakud Reservoir has now reached Odisha's Subarnapur district, resulting in a rise in the water level of the Mahanadi River. The situation is more pronounced downstream as the Tel River merges with the Mahanadi near Rameswar in Sonepur, increasing the river's flow further.
